Artists awarded in the 2nd Mural Painting Contest “Messa”

Joan Kilis, another artist from Albadia, who deserves a recognition. This year the 2nd Mural Painting Contest “Messa” has tributed this great artist. Organized by the city council of Albaida, the foundation Per Amor a L’Art and the cultural association “Centenari Messa”.

Exhibition of Messa’s work at Centre Cultural Caixa Ontinyent

Within the activities of the Centennary of Messa we are pleased to invite you to the exhibition of Messa’s work at Centre Cultural Caixa Ontinyent (C/. Gomis, 3 Ontinyent). The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday December 4th of 2015 at 19:30 hours.
The exhibition will be open until Sunday January 3rd of 2016.

Visiting hours:
Tuesday to Friday from 18 to 21 hours.
Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 14h, and from 18 to 21 hours.

Today Messa would be 100 years old

Today that Messa would have celebrated his 100th birthday, we are pleased to present the catalogue of the exhibition that commemorates this important date (download catalogue).

The timetable of the exhibition that can be visited at Milà i Aragó’s Palace of Albadia until November 29th is the following:

  • Monday to Friday from 10 to 13h.
  • Saturday from 11 to 14h and 17 to 20h.
  • Sunday from 11am to 14pm.

If the exhibition is closed during these periods please ask in tourist info, which is at the entrance of Pintor Segrelles square, in the first tower of the Palace.

Inauguration of Centenary Messa

We are pleased to invite you to the MESSAbandIMP.indd inauguration of the Centenary Messa, with the awards of the 1st Mural Painting Contest Messa, and the exhibtion at the Palau dels Milà i Arago of Albaida on Sunday October 4, 2015 at 12 in the afternoon. Acts will be as follows:
– 11h Discovery of te commemorative plaque at Messa’s birthplace.
– 12h Presentation ceremony:
· Delivery of the prizes of the 1st Mural Painting Contest Messa.
· Speeches, music performances :

1st Mural Painting Contest “Messa”

The City council of Albaida, the Festival Commission and the art foundation Fundació Per Amor a l’Art, have announced a mural painting contest for which participants will have to perform a work inspired by the artist Messa.

Five works of the submitted sketches will be selected  to be painted on walls of the town, with 200€ of budget to paint them. Among them, the jury will award with €2000 the first prize, €1000 for the second one and €500 for the third one.

The city council of Albaida declares 2015 as “Year Messa”

The municipality of Albaida has recently approved to declare the year 2015 as “Year Messa”, in homage to its artist Francesc Sempere Fernández de Mesa. Popularly knows as Messa, the centenary of his birth is now fulfilled. The proposal was supported by all the political parties of the city council.
